Help! Garage Sale Do’s & Dont’s

This is the big garage sale weekend!

For the past few weeks, my wife and I have been busy preparing for – and slightly regretting – our first ever garage sale. It’s one thing to “think” about having a garage sale, and quite another to buckle down and make it all happen.

We’ve lived in our current house for six years. Our basement is stacked with old baby and maternity clothes, toys and other stuff. It’s time for it all to go! This past weekend, we sorted through everything, then I headed to the dump and Goodwill to get rid of a few things. Now, we’re left with a solid supply of goodies to sell. So, how do we do it?

I’m looking for a few tips. What are the do’s and dont’s. A few friends of ours have suggested pricing tables. “Everything on this table is $1″…rather than pricing things individually. GREAT. Those of you who are experiences sellers and buyers – what should we do to ensure a solid sale…and what should we stay away from?

COUNTDOWN: Fall movie preview

The Film Society of Lincoln Center announced Thursday, July 17, 2014, that the highly anticipated adaption of Gillian Flynn’s best-selling novel will kick off the festival on September 26. The 20th Century Fox thriller, which stars Ben Affleck and Rosamund Pike, will premiere in theaters shortly after on October 3.
