Curtain’s closing on Jay Leno’s ‘Tonight’ show

GOODBYE, JAY: Actor/comedian Billy Crystal, left, serenades "Tonight Show" host Jay Leno with "Dear Mr. Leno" during the inauguration of "The Tonight Show With Jay Leno" at NBC Studios in Burbank, May 26, 1992. PASADENA, Calif. (AP) — Jay Leno’s last night as the host of the “Tonight” show will feature Billy Crystal, who was Leno’s first guest in May 1992.

Leno’s final show will be Feb. 6.

Leno’s last week will also include Betty White, Matthew McConaughey and Sandra Bullock. That week kicks off with Jimmy Fallon as one of Leno’s guests.

Fallon takes over the Tonight show Feb. 17, with fellow “SNL” alum Seth Myers taking over Fallon’s former show, which airs after “Tonight.”

NBC Entertainment president Robert Greenblatt told the Television Critics Association yesterday the network hopes to have a continuing relationship with Leno.
