Special Olympics Iowa Warren County Polar Plunge

Plunge teams are recommended to register online. Teams of 10 or more are encouraged. You can recruit a team or be placed on one the day of the Plunge. Prize categories include best costume (individual and team), top individual fundraiser, top online fundraiser (as of Feb. 24) and top “chicken” fundraiser. A post party will be held immediately after the Plunge. Enjoy fun, food, drink, music, drawings and silent auction. Lunch can be purchased for spectators at registration for $5 ages 6+, 5 and under eat for free. The more money you raise, the more great Polar Plunge gear you can earn!

Gourmet Gala (fundraiser)

May 16, 2015 - 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Seasons Marketplace at Iowa State University

The Gourmet Gala is a cooking contest consisting of tops chefs who are employed by ISU Dining who each prepare a meal for guests who are invited to taste and judge. At the end of the night a winner will be awarded the silver spoon. This event is held as a fundraiser for guest to donate and support Special Olympics.

Special Olympics Iowa Plane Pull

June 6, 2015 - 10:00 am at Des Moines International Airport

It’s a giant tug of war between you, your friends and a 120,000-pound airplane!  The Plane Pull is a unique opportunity for individuals and organizations to raise money and support SOIA athletes by pulling a UPS 757.  In 2014, sponsors and participants of the Plane Pull raised more than $105,000 for Iowa athletes, giving them opportunities to participate in year-round sports, health and educational programming – and most importantly – experience joy, pride and respect.
